Arielle practiced clinically as an Occupational Therapist in the USA for 30 years before specialising in cognitive and dementia care. Throughout her career she has served clients of all ages: from premature infants, adults in all phases of brain injury recovery, and persons with cognitive impairment across the USA, Israel and South Africa.

She brings decades of clinical expertise and experience as an interdisciplinary team member working alongside physicians, nurses, therapists and managers to provide comprehensive care. Arielle’s passion is to serve and train. Her vision is to build partnerships, relationships and communities that educate, uplift and empower others to bring effective care worldwide.

Arielle is committed to bring hope and to improve the way dementia care is provided. She leads YA Partners team of independent Fit Minds™ coaches, consultants and trainers with a management style of collaboration, integrity and servant leadership.

Lorie is a qualified nurse practitioner with over 30 years of nursing experience and over 20 years experience in the senior living industry in the USA. Her expertise includes quality assurance, development and oversight of clinical operations and implementation / training for Dementia care clinical systems.

She has worked as a Quality Assurance expert and dementia care trainer for existing and start up memory care communities across the USA and specialises in organising clinical practices in both independent living and assisted living/memory care communities.

After 20 years in compliance management in the gaming industry in Las Vegas, Ann felt the need to explore ways to be more purposeful in life. Her first step was embark on an artistic journey, a journey she continues to enjoy. Her next step: find ways to give back to others. Ann’s father was diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia and he passed away in hospice care in 2009. Unfortunately she was unable to spend much time with him during his final years; she recalls her mother’s frustration trying to care for him.

In honor of her father’s memory, Ann wishes to serve this uniquely challenged population and their loved ones. She feels that kindness, understanding and support are key to ease the journey with dementia.

Ann’s corporate training and management experience give her perspective on conflict resolution and communication techniques with people of varied educational backgrounds and language fluency levels. She is excited to apply her experience and make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Brenda has worked as an Occupational Therapist since 2002 upon graduating Loma Linda University. She has served thousands of patients of all ages in hospitals, rehabilitation programs and home health care settings throughout her professional career. Her clinical skills combined with her compassionate and encouraging character create a positive impact in relations with co-workers, clients and family members in her community.

With a heart for mental health and a passion for serving and educating others, Brenda is excited to apply her experience to serve and support clients and families journeying with dementia.

She focused on planning, communication, personality development and staff management. Yvonne is a Pastor (Marketplace Ministry), Life and Transformation Coach, has her PhD in Ministry. She has authored e-books on an array of subjects ranging from effective communication, handling of conflict and entrepreneurship.

Yvonne’s father has dementia which sparked her interest in the treatment thereof and now she is a Certified Fit Minds™ Cognitive Coach and Certified Dementia Practitioner®.

Evelyn has been a Registered Nurse for 45 years and has enjoyed a varied selection of nursing care: involved with the relocation of three hospitals into the Johannesburg Hospital (Charlotte Maxeke Academic Hospital). She has worked for specialists, managed the EEG Department at Princess Nursing Home in Hillbrow under the renowned neurologist Dr Percy Terespolski, The Rand Epiliptic Assoc, The Womens Centre, and worked for Netcare for 16+ years before serving as Matron for a retirement village for 500 residents.

Evelyn worked at Livewell in Bryanston, specializing in high quality Dementia and Alzheimers care and is the first C.D.S. CARES® Dementia Specialist within South Africa https://hcinteractive.com/cdsregistry

She has personally experienced the responsibility of caregiving and the associated family dynamics as she co-cared for both her mom who had Parkinsons with Lewy Bodies, and dad who had Vascular Frontal Lobe Dementia. Evelyn’s passion is to render assistance and support to all families and carers who devote and sacrifice in their personal lives to take care of a loved one. Her aim is to help lighten their load and make life easier for both caregiver and their loved one experiencing dementia.

Heather discovered her passion for people when she branched off into a career of IT technical skills & facilitation.

Encouraged by her employer to spend time in the library weekly, she found herself drawn to books on brain function and development, study techniques using left & right brain and cognitive brain function. These techniques she always incorporated into her technical and training content, thereby encouraging her learners and improving their learning experience.

Heather became immensely interested in the potential of the Fit Minds programme. For her it is an honour to step into the role of Certified Cognitive Coach to make an impactful difference in the lives of people.

Michael has 32 years of combined experience in the public, private and NGO sectors respectively.

He has historically served as a diplomat in the United States of America and also in various Sub Saharan countries. In the private sector he has been involved in diverse business ventures as a director of various companies.

As an Executive Director and Corporate Advisor, he has been directly involved in social investment projects which has addressed community development, including the re-integration of ex-combatants and disadvantaged youth into civil society.

Michael is an accredited international public relations practitioner, has a BA Hons degree which has included majors in psychology and international relations, has a postgraduate qualification in Monitoring & Evaluation and has a MBA from Henley Business Management College (UK).

He has a strong passion for working with the elderly.

He will seek to promote and develop the interests of YA Partners in South Africa to the benefit of the elderly and individuals facing cognitive challenges.

As a National Sales Manager and business owner for 30 years in the corporate environment, Colleen felt the need to give back to others in a more personal way. Having had a mother who suffered from dementia, she gained first-hand knowledge about the challenges involved in serving this unique population. Colleen is qualified in Train-The Trainer via DementiaSA, and currently educates and supports families in South Africa and the United Kingdom to understand the disease process their loved ones are experiencing. She feels that knowledge and understanding is the key to make everyone’s lives happier throughout their journey with dementia.
